After reading the other message thread about the 300 kit, I had the idea that maybe my TPS sensor was the reason my MC18 was running intermittantly and not starting sometimes.
Can someone give me some proper instructions for testing this? Which are the correct wires to connect the multimeter to? What are the proper reading at full throttle and closed throttle?
I have put a multimeter on two of the wires (had to guess which ones) and turned the throttle, the resistance goes down but not very smoothly. Could this cause starting problems and what seems like a misfire when it does run?
Also will the TPS from my MC28 fit the MC28 to test if thats the problem?
Hi, to test the TPS, disconnect the white plug, use the centre as common and each of the other pins should have a simultaneous ascending and descending reading as the throtle is slowly opened and closed.
The readings should be smooth.
I dunno if a duff one will cause poor starting,
I doubt it will make a pot go off tho. Check the terminals / wires that run to the front coil, you may need to strip the rubber boot to get a good butchers at it.
