PB magazine want to borrow an NSR for a stroker shootout

Tue Oct 27, 2009 4:42 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Nothing to do with me, just saw this on the PB forum :

Got a road legal, late model TZR, RGV, NSR or Aprilia RS250?

If you have one, two or all (!) of the above bikes in tidy condition, or know someone who does who'd be willing to loan us it for a couple of sunny days in exchange for a brand new set of tyres, we'd love to hear from you – please PM me. Thanks, Kar.

If you're not a member of the PB forum and can't be bothered to join, I can forward anyones details/photos to Kar and you can take it from there.
I've spoken to him a couple of times before and dropped him a few PM's from when he put my racebike in the "bikes we like" feature.

I've offered by '21 but I'm sure we can muster better than that, cant we?

So potentially the prospect of a group test with a standard MC28 putting out ~ 40 BHP Confused
For a milisecond, I thought about offering my full power 21SP Rothmans (with the JHA Airbox Lid fitted Razz )

PB should see Fastline for a wire-spliced MC21, I recall a PB Grey Import group test many years ago with a Cabin 21SP supplied by Fastline, but with a botched 'plug-in' delimiter from Japan which didn't actually work.

Rich Rich Rich...

I have a PM (on the PB forum) from Kar saying your 21 looks like it "could fit the bill" (as I did mention a couple of better ones when I offered mine), I'll happily deal with any logistics that might come about if you won't be in the UK when it's needed.

Your generous offer of handling the logistics is duly noted John! And I'd trust you with the bikes any day of the week.

I am more than a little aprehensive though. This is an immaculate bike and 21SP Rothmans bodywork is no longer available.

I've just dug out the 90's PB mag with that Group test, Simon Hargreaves binned Fastline's Cabin SP trying to get his elbow down Confused

The thrashing of the bike does not worry me at all however.........
This summer the throttle cable & tacho needle were 'stretched' around Mallory Park at the 1000 bikes (it really needed an open airbox). The clutch plates were crying 'enough' by the third track session Razz
New plates in stock though Wink

Be brave! Steve lent them his RC though allegedly someone did see it being ridden "knee down" not 400 yards from where they picked it up!

Kar did say he'd like a dealer owned bike (so prepare for my old '28 "sp" going in the mag, though it does go a lot better than a stock 28), I've assured him they can bin my '21 or blow it up as long as they pay.

Or;

Andy...offer the '21 with the Noodle bodywork and fit some Bridgestone tyres, this plan CANNOT fail!

Expect Steve had tire warmers on beforehand, for the PB 'first roundabout knee down test' Laughing

Well, they've got options, Jay's (but it's still Honda panels), mine (do what they lilke as long as they fix it, and its an easy fix, Tyga panels and a poor paint job) or Rich's and be careful (or take both of his).

If they feature a stock '28 now I give up.
