Sat Dec 26, 2009 7:26 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi Guys
I know a lot of you don`t like the fairings of e-bay. But i just got a set from Hong Kong for $500 au and i am happy with them the finish is pretty good i have fitted the tail section so far and it fitted easy no problems . I will fit the front next week and post some pics.
And there not the Pvc ones but made from ABS plastic for the price i am over the moon.
They will paint any colour you want.

I'm looking forward to the pics. I hear the fit isn't too bad because the NSR bodywork is relatively simple compared to most "modern" sport bikes.

you gotta clean up the rims to match how nice and shiny the new plastics are.

Looks impressive from the photo, I think you would only notice with age/time and a real close inspection. Cool

Interesting to see these pictures as I was looking at buying plastics off ebay a while back. I've decided to get an original set of fairings and paint them myself now, managed to find someone selling a tank, front cowling and all the mid section fairings for $300 NZD!

I`m very happy with them they went on with no modifications . They are a bit thinner than standard but is to be expected will look a treat when it is finished.

Glad you had a good experience with the ebay fairings...

It's really buyer beware with these...i also bought a set and they didn't fit too and required some extensive modification with the dremel. Even at that, there was still a gap in the rear where the 2 tail pieces join up with the rear plate...

As Andy and others have said in the past...nothing fits better than OEM...if you can find/afford them...

I've seen some really good ones and some pretty terrible ones, it appears to be just roll the dice and hope Rolling Eyes

Any sellers we should be looking for, or avoiding? Which ones sell the semi well-fitting stuff as opposed to the "extensive modifications required" plastics, or can it be a crapshoot from the same seller?

I've bought a full set of Rothmans from HK a few years back, just when it was all kicking off. The price was great (£180 delivered). The only problem was the front light bottom mounts needed to be 'fabricated' as did the rear lights mounting brackets.

It's long since gone.

The set you have appears to have the slots in the noses fairing that mount the headlight and allow it to adjust the beam up and down...... is this correct??

Where did you get the stuff??
