Why don't you use a print on demand service like www.lulu.com or do a search for print on demand. They print the book for you and sell it via their store whenever someone orders one.

Got my manual from Charles today, it's an amazing piece of work. Knowing that I can adjust everything back to spec is a great feeling!

Halleluja our saviour has come Wink

PS: My IT working son, told me that there are many reliable ways of copy- and printlocking of PDF files. Are you aware of this ?

Apart from the copy problem, I think PDFs would be the most practicable way of distribution and allows the user to search using his PC.

And you don't see "practical distribution" as a problem?!

It will just be copied and e-mailed for free by all and sundry once it's in PDF format. Hell, it only took a couple weeks for my colour wiring diagram to come up on another another site once I'd been kind enough to send it to someone who was apparently desperate and trustworthy!

Printed version only. No-one had a problem using the contents or index in a book before PC's came along.

If we just fileshare everything, it won't be worth anyone's time to do things like this so PLEASE DON'T DO THAT even for a buddy. There's nothing wrong with lending out a manual but please don't go beyond that because sure as heck it will get out of hand.
