I think it looks awesome. It will be the small track bike to have in the future. With engine tuning I reckon they could get good power from that little lump.
Unfortunately, when it comes to international racing with high status the end of the two stroke bikes is here. We could of course keep discussing "the good ol' days" of the two stroke era, but I think it is also interesting to se what new technology offers.
What is interesting with the the new Moto3 class I think is that they say they are able to improve on the weight compared to the 125cc two strokes. According to the article about the NFS the dry weight should be 84 kg. Though I'm not so sure that it is an improvement if the old minimum weight of the 125 class was 80kg.
Lets hope that these new changes will bring more teams to the sport and still bring as much joy to the spectators. _________________ MC21, GP-Replica (Daijiro Kato, Telefonica Movistar Team 2001)
Think the price is a bit steep! £20000. Still i know its a bore stroke but sure they'd sell a road version by the lorry load.... Have you seen the cbr250???.......NSR's rock! _________________ it wouldn't be fun if it was easy!
They seem real expensive but no doubt in a few years second hand ones will filter down through the market and soon enough will take over from the RS 2 strokes, providing young up and coming riders with a new, ready to rock, pure race machine to learn and advance on - in keeping with modern rule changes and political trends.
Hopefully the use of the more market relevant four stroke engines will mean more manufacturers might put the effort into this sector, rather than just leaving it to Honda and Yamaha (and i guess Aprilia too) to make competition road race machines for young riders. _________________ After years of moaning about immigrants now i am one...
