Hi, New member here. have never owned an NSR before but have been looking at 2-stroke sports bikes for a while. I have a Yam RD250F air cooled 2 stroke which is great fun but a million miles away from the liquid cooled race reps.. So I have just reserved a 1992 NSR250SP in Rothmans livery... it looks like a serious piece of kit and I cant wait to get my leg over it !
congrats on your new toy, i'm fairly new to them too, i bought a mc21 abought 3 month ago and love it, i also have a air cooled sb200/x5 and yes they are a million mile away from each other,but i do still like to ride the sb as it's so easy and comfortable to ride, i also have a zx10 which is different again, i don't want to tell granny how to suck eggs but don't
forget to use good quality 2 stroke oil, warm it up before you give it any beans,and somthing i do weather it's right or wrong but these bike seem to suffer from valve cokeing up and burning the servo motor out so what
I DO is one a week with ignition off stick your arm in the fairing and turn buy hand the valve, which will turn the other as they are connected then when you turn ignition on the servo will turn the vaves and hopfully keep them free of carbon, thats what i do weather it does anything or not to stop it burning servo out i don't know but can't see it hurting anything

The only correct way of decoking the valves is to remove them for cleaning,do a search,lots of threads on this.Beware the nut on the valve spindle is LEFT HAND thread!!
Hey tom tom, just noticed you're in Leeds, not far from me (Cas)... do you get to squires? Have you seen the Yorkshire Strokers forum/club.. were a frendly bunch and often go on local rideouts on our strokers. The club is aimed at classic stuff up to 1990, RD's, KH's GT's that type of stuff. Go check it out.!
There's the 2-stroke day in september too.... meeting at Squires at 12.00 on Saturday the 3rd, thats open to any 2-stroke...
Hi rob yes i do go to squires i only live in morley so go most wednesdays and sundays, i was there last 2 stroke day and went for the ride out,loved it, i was right at he back (by choice taking in the good smells) seen it on u tube too, me and a few friends have two strokes one of them has 85% finished a tz/rd custom build very very nice too, you will deffenatley know when you see that our bikes includes,sb200,nsr250,350ypvs,tz/rd,and a
(zx10 not a 2 stroke but massive fun) so a good mix, will deff check the strokers forum out sounds like my kind of thing, also going to vjmc at lotherton always enjoy that
