I was bored the other day and decided to drop a MC21 dry clutch engine in to my MC18. I am sure I am not the first to try this.
Now the problem is there is no spark. I am using the stock wiring and electrics from the MC18. On the old MC18 motor there is a wire that goes under the gear shifter and connects to the magneto. On the MC21 engine there is no place for this wire to connect. Is this the neutral indicator wire and would it prevent me from getting a spark? If so, what is the solution?
Or am I totally out to lunch and there is another answer to my problem?
Yeah, that'll be the neutral switch wire, but I doubt if it will effect the spark.
The neutral wire on the MC21 is light green/red so temporarily connect it to the neutral wire on the MC18 harness and see if it cures the no spark issue.
I'd imagine all the neutral indicators work in a similar way.
Failing that, I'd be looking for a broken/bad connection somewhere. _________________ Andy.
