i have honda nsr250 MC21 with dry clutch. problem is that clucth is slipping!!!so what to do???how to service clutch and what parts i need???i think i can do it by myself!thanks
It'll probably be just the frictions and springs that need replacing, but you will need to check the steels to see how bad they are. If it's been slipping for a while they tend to blue up and go a funny shape.
When you do replace parts, it's best top go for an extra thick steel plate instead of the one thin plate that Honda saw fit to put in there. this helps preload the springs a tad and beefs up the clutch pack. Stronger springs are also an option. they don't give finger ache, but just strong enough to keep things gripping for a while longer.
If you're paranoid about the jingle jangle of the cry clutch then you can always fit the rubber damped plates at both the front and raer of the pack. Quietens things up just enough to stop too many silly questions at the traffic lights. Pointless if you ask me, but some people do actually think that the clutch rattle is a little annoying.
I was thinking that. That clutch must be way pasted it best if an MC28 can make it slip! _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...

As it is looking likely that I will be dropping my heap off to Stephen in October, should I just order the bits and let him do it? Stephen is this feasible?

Was thinking that I could swap the motor for a 50cc twist and go to make it easier to ride, no one will notice the performance difference!!
Stephen what do you think about doing the clutch when I drop it off. We are going to book the boat in a few days for Oct half term, drop the heap to you and then off to Wales. If I don't get raped by the Welsh then I will pick it up 5-6 days later.
Or would it be prudent for me to do the clutch first so it works properly for the dyno? when I say me, I mean the dealer here. Whatever I touch goes bad, I have a black finger of doom.
