Bridge Moto in Reading

Hello - just popped in there (after calling first and checking they'd be open) as they've got a couple of NSRs in there that look promising.

Bit disappointed with their general response / lack of helpfullness / knowledge and thier "we don't offer a warranty as such as they're, well, 2 stokes but if it blows up on the way out of the shop we'll fix it" !? which is a big shame as I quite liked the look of one of the bikes they have.

Did I just catch them on a bad day?

Anyone had a great experience / horror stories?

Cheers

In my opinion, you're better off buying a known bike from the Classifieds here!

Depending on your budget, you've just missed two fantastic MC21's in the last week! Both in show condition... both mechanically and visually.

that's what I'd hoped! (that this would be a good place to buy rather than I'd log on just after a couple have gone!)

the guy said they just run them round the block a couple of times and put them in the window. If they're charging top dollar and they can't even be arsed to clean the stock it doesn't bode well imho!

Trouble is there are some dealers that make them look stunning, but the good looks turned out to be extremely deceiving, and expensive!

We're not big fans of dealers here!

Couldn't agree more.

I snapped up one of the MC21's (Cabin SP) on here this week and it's a real gem for the money, can't wait to get my hands on it!

EDIT: Can't believe I've owned three NSR's this year...spent 7 years search and then three come along in one go Cool

Over the moon Very Happy

Just need to be patient now as it will be travelling half way round the world to get here...kind of hoping it turns up on Christmas day!

Anyway, condition of the bike is a testament to Johnny, some really nice effort gone into that bike...considering keeping it in my office Twisted Evil

I think you may find Johnnymac can find something v-nice for you if you're willing to pay anything near dealer prices.

When I was down at his the other week he said a couple of his had to go and they're all a match for anything in a dealers at any price.

Seeing the bikes that have come out of dealers the last 2 years, I would say anything johnymac sells will far exceed any dealer sold bike.

Bridgemoto Reading

Thu Nov 17, 2011 2:31 pm » Post: #13 » Download Post

Hi, I was a little surprised at your comments about Bridgemoto, having had a few sensible deals with him it seemed unlike the Spencer i have dealt with,i have spoken to him ref these comments only to find out you spoke to his cleaner / valeter,he was not there when you turned up,the other issue on condition i agree with you i think first impression is so important,if you have a prepared, smartened up,that stands out it is more likely to impress potential customer than something looking, well, just looking ok,i know through experience Bridgemoto prefers you to see the bike in honest, how it arrived shape rather than a bike with every panel coated in laquer, I personally much prefer to buy them out of the container as is, and not got at by whoever, but that is my own opinion and i can only speak as i find, and they will try thier best to have a deal, hope this helps all ,jonmac,

that's what I'd hoped to hear tbh, he's been doing what he does for quite a while now and if he was just selling tat then he wouldn't still be in business or certainly not from the same location anyway! On condition, the bikes in the flesh don't look half as good as the ones on the website so you sort of immediatly assume they've been there for ages for a reason, which is a put off.

might give him another try, many thanks for putting a call in, much appreciated!

thanks

Andy

I bought a Rothmans 28 off him is Feb, and yes its top dollar, but he was a pleasure to deal with and was true to his word on what i requested to be done and in the time frame agreed and delivered on time.
I would buy from him again if i was looking for something he had and while knowing its expensive - i would rather my money went to this dealer who was honest and straight unlike another "dealer" close to me in the Northwest who's bikes are always "sorry mate this ones sold - but we have another coming in just like it in 3 months"
