just wondering if anyone has encountered this before.
was riding my mc28 just now and the whole footpeg (left) came off.
noting that very very little mileage has been done on this bike. maybe 500km since i installed the rearsets
no track time was done yet.
installation was done by a reputable workshop in town and i was there every sec n tested it.
quite a horrifying experience. pulled over on the side, walked back to pick it up in the middle of a highway.
So the whole foot peg hanger fell off or just the peg?
I don't think that's really a problem with the foot peg more the lack or tightening and lock-tight. _________________ If I have to take the carbs off once more...
just the peg. when it was installed, ensured it was lock tight.
with all the washers provided in place etc.
thats why i wanted to voice out here to see if anyone else encountered
coz last thing i would wanna see is this happening on a track day.
Even the tightest fastner can vibrate loose, given just the right frequency. Something like the footpeg can be even more susceptible as vibration can be amplified along the hangar. _________________ Andy.

In addition to loctite, i also like to make a tiny mark in the screw heads or nuts with a red paint marker, so you can check easily if it has loose a bit or not. It's cheap and easy, and you feel "safe". Use a paint marker, not a tint one, you can find it in any automotive shop.
