RS250 NF5 cylinder head query?????

Sat Apr 28, 2012 1:03 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Is anyone have any experience with change the angle of the aluminum water hose of RS250 NF5 head?
I have two rear cylinder heads and i want to fit the one on the front cylinder, the only issue after easy cutting the heads mount is the angle of the aluminum hose which needs 45 degrees change.
Is anyone tried it or know how this aluminum hose fits to the head,is it pressed or screws?
Any info will be helpfull as i dont want to try it blindly with a damage result.

Did you ever tried to remove it ?
As my heads are new and clean,i see something like thread lock glue or seelant glue at the base of the hose.
So as you know that it is threated i believe that if i heat the area the glue will melt and it will be easier to unscrew.
Thanks for the info.

Yes, it can be removed and repositioned to the angle you wish with a strong lock & seal thread glue.
Alternatively, if pipe routing is your issue, you can make your own water hoses by using aluminum tubes.

Not really relative but here is a messy example.

It isnīt the pipe routing my issue.
The NF5 motor has at the lower cylinder head horizontal hose angle cause if it was vertical angle as the rear head,it would touched the radiator with the extra space of the water tube.
As it is removable i definitely find the solution.
Thanks for the info patriot.
