The only thing I can think of is smoother air flow over/through the reeds.
I remember years ago playing with inlet lengths on an LC. Increasing the inlet length slightly noticeably improved mid range, which seemed to be largely due to smoother air flow, which ultimately I guess flowed more charge in to the cyinder. _________________ If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
IanE uses reed splitters when he tunes RS engines.
He says on his website that they give better mid / top end power, for NXA models.
It doesn't mention NX5, but expect would be the same type of benefit.
IanE is tuning my NXA engine in the New Year, so will discuss this with him and give some more feedback. _________________ Rich
