Where to get lower conrod bearing thrust washers?

Mon Mar 24, 2014 8:45 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

My MC28 crank is currently being rebuilt by a local shop and to my surprise the crank pins and the conrods are still within spec at 46,000 km. So they asked me to supply the lower conrod bearings and the thrust washers. I will order the competition bearings from Samarin but I have no idea where to get the washers (25x45x1.5); Samarin doesn't have them in their catalogue (I didn't approach them directly yet).

Any good source to buy them off the internet, preferably silver plated?

Thanks,
Gebhard.

There was a post with all the part numbers for ProX ones but it looks like that thread has been deleted as I can't find it . I will try search some more and post back if I find it .

Neal, thanks for the tip. I searched ProX's web site and their tech catalogue has a thrust washer

Size: 25 x 42 x 1.0
Order Code: 03W.25421.0

But there is none with 25x45x1.5. Sad

I will probably again have to ask the workshop for the measurements, maybe they got it wrong or maybe I misunderstood it.
If you find anything different in old post (or whereever) I'd be glad if you could let me know.

Maybe someone else with crankcase re-building can indicate which size is correct?

Gebhard.

With all the talk about crank rebuilding in this forum I am really surprised that no one knows the nominal size of the washers or a source where I could buy them.
