New owner of an MC21 thats well ridden but still runs strong, WOT. Is anyone aware of a source for QUALITY carb seal kits and float needles in the states (I've had my fun with cheap junk blow-up gaskets and no more for me). I plan on replacing reed valves with TYGA valves while the carbs are off but haven't contacted them yet. Also I'd like to omit the auto oiler and run pre-mix, all that said this might be a deletable post with one call to TYGA. Any help or advice is appreciated in advance.
Give PJ Motorsports a call for the float needles. A Google search will find them in Silverton Oregon. They will have float needs, but may not have the gasket kit since they pretty much only stock stuff for bikes that were imported. Probably worth asking.
I bought an assortment of main and pilot jets from them for my MC28. They won't be able to look up the float needle via the bike model so I suggest you have yours either in hand or measured before you call. Are you sure they are leaking....easy to test just turn carbs upside down and blow in the fuel line. If you can blow air, then you obviously have a leak.
I've installed Tyga reeds, stuffers, pipes, and airbox on my bike with favorable results. I'm running the oil injector - not racing so don't see the need to pre-mix at this time.
My concern isn't so much with leaks, it is just that the bike sat for two years. My fear is that some jets are plugged because there is a mid range misfire. Ideally I'd like to get an HRC jet kit or equivalent and new gaskets so that after I have them apart and clean no leaks happen.
