I have just seen a set of Magtex wheels with disks on an auction site for best part of £900 plus P&P.
I have lots of bikes but I don't actually own a house so some people could make a massive assumption I was loaded. How I choose to spend my money is my choice, and if I don't see value for money as in this case, then I choose not to buy I guess some people have more money than sense. _________________ MC21R ; MC21SP , plus some other none Honda 2t's
Here,here mellorp.
Fully agree with you on wether to open my wallet or not, I think the trouble with the auction sites is that some people can't be bothered to search around for an alternative.
I was watching a Sealy hydraulic lift go for about £20 less than a brand new one but needed to be collected. I bought new, same model, everything with free delivery.
A set of wheels at £900 is a bit salty but I bet someone ends up paying it.
More fool them.
Another reason why I won't allow links to auctions be posted here. These sellers are happy to sell often poor quality or increasingly insanely over-priced items, and reap the rewards, but won't support the forum or pay for advertising. _________________ Andy.

I cant get my head around, why some people put used stuff on that site for more money than it is new, or even more why people buy it, i think Daz is on the nail, people cant be bothered to search, or dont know where to look. I have just bought a new temp gauge for a 93 Honda RS125, about £100 with postage, theres an idiot got a used one on the auction site, describing it as rare and no more obtainable from anywhere for £225, i offered him £50 seeing as it was used, and might not work, i think he was offended, but he just as well buy it a wedding ring cause he's gonna have it a long time. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
May I add that these wild ideas of prices put new people off getting into good two stroke bikes.
£900 for some old rotten wheels is stupid, you could get some brand new, lighter and hi-tech rims for £1000.
Sometimes I feel exploited when I need to buy a footrest hanger or power valve servo, the prices are sickening.
Hi I can only agree with you none of us like paying more for anything now than it was 6 years ago,I have only had nsr,s for 6+ years and have witnessed the value triple up in that time and members talk of nice sp,s at £1500 10 years ago,this is all well and good if you own 1 but if you want to buy its called missed the boat,The prices these bikes are selling for now are encouraging people to stop breaking them for parts and sell them as projects,I have access to BDS auction site in Japan and see bikes that have been dragged out the Tsunami aftermath and fetch stupid amounts of yen the price has gone through the roof,The parts that differentiate R and SE models ,forks,dry clutch assy and rear shock,and from sp models ie Magtek wheels ,these parts are and will command a premium price because of there {more people want them and there ent enough to go round}
Most Magteks are 20 years + and almost certainly will need refurbing,
The same applies to Honda RS 250 NXA oh how we wished we bought them at 10 k not that long ago,I saw a brand new 1 in a sitting room last week recently purchased at £25k,
This person selling these parts does it for a living and he,s not 10k behind Lord Sugar,I have had several deals with him and there is a difference between asking price and dealing price,
These Wheels in pairs are thin on the ground and we all know this,How would you value them if they were yours ????
Good luck in your Quest,

The trouble with people advertising parts for inflated prices like this regardless of what their willing to take for it is that joe blogs see's it and thinks blimey those old wheels i have sitting in the shed must be worth that too so on ebay they go, and so on and so on. Then before you know it the going price has doubled as theres always some born again biker with lots of disposable cash willing to buy them.
I appreciate parts like these will always rise in value but i think a lot of it is artificial caused by the above, one prime example is RVF400 rear wheels ive watched them nearly triple in price over the years.
It's all simple economics, supply and demand. Magteks (especially MC28 ones) are rare and getting rarer, so the price goes up. And you can't blame someone for wanting to get the most money for whatever they are selling.
I just saw a new in package mc28 jet kit on an auction site in Japan for $1000 usd. And if you scroll down a bit another seller is putting up a two sets on mc28 carbs one with jet kit the other without, all for $800usd. Seems like a no brainer if i was in the market.
I have the dimensions for the hrc airjets....we should make some. Im working on mc28 needle holders. Might be few months cause i have a day job. I dont plan to get rich selling them so they will pretty much be priced cheap..
