Engine conversion

Sat Jan 24, 2015 1:05 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi everyone,
Im looking at swapping the engine out of my r2j with a mc21sp engine.
Can anybody tell me if I can safely run the mc21 flywheel and pickups with the mc18 pgm?
If not will the pgm from a mc21 run with mc18 carbs?
Or is my only option to swap the fly wheels?
Thanks Pete

I understand the question, but I don't understand the question.

Why don't you just use the R2J flywheel and pulser coils on the MC21 motor? There are a lot of differences between an 88 and 90-93 setup, and you're only going to complicate things and open yourself up to all kinds of compounding issues.

As a good friend always says, "everything's possible..."!

There are a lot of differences between the R2/4J and the MC21 though.
