hi,
another newby question,what do i have undo to remove the tail section?seems like the strap for the pillion seat is holding it on.is it the bolts inside the little compartment the ones that attatch the strap and if i undo them will i be able to bolt the strap back on?

Try looking on the parts manual section for the seat unit on the 21' should show how it goes together. Not sure myself i've got an 18.

Undo the seat pad. Remove 4 large headed screws (2 on either side of panels). Remove 2 bolts inside the storage area. Pull the front sides apart where they sit in their lugs at the tank end. Lift it off the back. As it starts to come off look under the rear light area and unclip the light connector before removing the unit completely.

thanks for the replies,there are 4 bolts inside the seat compartment,is it the two bolts that bolt straight down or the two that are horizontal?thanks for your help,only got the bike yesterday.

The horizontal ones.

As Duncan says, look at the parts manual diagrams... they will tell you a lot about how it all comes apart and goes back together!
