Newbie Saying Hi

Fri Apr 01, 2011 6:56 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Just learning my way around. Wanted to say hi from Virginia USA. I just got a 1991 mc21 with 1994 frame and title and 1998 mc28 plastics. Built by Speedwerks in Delaware. Does anybody have any tricks for to not run out of fuel? No fuel gage and no petcock for reserve because it is vacuum fed.

Welcome to the site mate. If the tank isn't fitted with the standard petcock, you can still get em from Honda about $35. The part number is in the 'Parts Manual' on this site.

Is your bike the Rothmans MC28 with the MC21 ignition, clocks and front end?? Looks very clean. I had a bike just like this a year ago, even down to the black wheels.

What I did, If you get a standard fuel tap with a reserve, zero your trip meter and ride it till you hit reserve, look at the kilometers (sorry, miles) travelled and then you have some indicaion of when you need to fill up.

Thanks for the welcomes. I will have to look at getting the standard petcock. I did not know that you could do that. Just curious as to them comments on the appearance of my bike as I didn't post any pics.
