I would say what ever you have spent on the bike to get it to that spec should give you a good idea . Many plonkers will say ah it's not original but someone will love that bike and pay the asking price .

Well I could not sell my track mc28 for £3250. It's sad to say but you would probably be better off breaking it.

Yeah it's crazy how much we spend on the bikes for the next guy to haggle you down . Good luck Si in your decision .

My Pedrosa rep took 3 months of classifieds to sell but eventually somebody who genuinely liked it for what it became rather than once was turned up and paid my asking price. That said after meeting you at Llandow I have to say i'd finish it, but I know how you feel....don't want to strap sh*t bits on to finish it quick but the good bits are not cheap these days !!!!

Do you remember the guy with the RG500 that never came out the van ? He valued his bike at a 1/4 of what he had spent on it.

Don't do it! Finish the build! Si, you know the pain and anguish I went throught trying to build that XRO works spec GSXR750 SRAD. Nearly eleven long years and at the end all I had was a very nice pile of parts! I'm sorry to say I made more money breaking the SRAD than I ever would of trying to sell the bike as a 'going concern'.
It's a very tough descision to make, but personally I'm now glad I did what I did by breaking the SRAD and then buying an NX5 RS! Hurrah!
Sorry I can't be of any more help, I can't help thinking about RS250's... Wink

I would like to think that an NSR in that sort of spec was worth around 3-3500GBP... to the right person. Just a matter of finding that person I guess.

Surely you'd get alot more money back on it by breaking it? You've got alot of highly desirable bling on that bike afterall. *Bagsy the radiator!*.

People will be more likely to readily pay good coin for individual rare parts to enhance/finish their own projects. Its just the hassle and time involved in shipping things off one by one i guess. And the heart break of seeing your project effectively coming to nothing after all this time and effort.

I agree with the general consensus that you could reasonably expect to get £3500 for it.

Personally i encourage you to keep it, if money is too tight now just store it and pick the game up again later. As awesome as it would be to have a proper RS250 (rather than just an NSR roadbike made to mimic one) i still think you'd always regret selling your current bike due to the emotional investment that i'm sure you will have made in it. I know i certainly feel attached to my bike after all these years of modifying, garage and track time - its certainly a constant source of enjoyment and that afterall, is what its all about.

Would you be happy to sell it only for some one to take apart something you've spent alot of time and money getting how you want it?
Can't be much more to do (famous last words) and you'll have the bike YOU always dreamed of! Cool

thanks for the sensible opinions lads Very Happy i think common sense has kicked in,and a few rude words from the missus and a couple of mates last night.i was called a daft,er.....ladies private part Laughing the values are around where i was thinking,as you never get the money back that you plough into projects Confused i will be cracking on with what it Very Happy and now the weathers turning nice i can get the bits that me and a mate can do sorted out.you make a good point about your factory srad innes, and would be worth more in spares as theres some good bits on the bike,i think now my fallout with the thing its made me want to finish it more and enjoy it again
