Snetterton on an NSR??

Mon Jul 18, 2011 4:33 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Have the option to go to Snetterton on the 1st of August. Is this track going to be too long for an NSR? WOuld I be better going somewhere else? Would I be better taking my RC8? Would rather drop the NSR to be honest!

If it's jetted right Simon I shouldn't see a problem. Any track is cool to ride an NSR on. So if your mates are going then you should go too.

Last question. Anybody have any suggestions for brake pads. Mine seem to have lost their bite. The level feels great, but the initial bite is missing.

^^^ Hmmmmm, conflicting views here. I don't want to spin my ring, it sounds painful!

Being serious Fonty, was that due to keeping it pinned on the long straights?

No, it was on the Sunday morning warm up lap and just one of those things. The rings were new(ish) but the piston was old.

It's not a big problem there, the Snett back straight isn't as long as it was and the front straight is up hill and now has a very slow entry.

Besides, it's just a trackday, there's no reason to hold it flat in 6th for miles and if you're running stock 21 gearing it wont get there anyway.

i raced old snet on my rs 250 aprillia, it did blow at cadwell 2 weeks later but it held together for a race weekend (fri sat sun) znd brake pads, performance friction brake pads are mega although not road legal ( they dont work till they are hot) not sure if they are avalible for a nsr, the brembo pads are also very good

Well it survived and also made a few of the big bikes look silly. The straights are far too long and the back straight has that confusing left right that made it hard to overtake there. Right of the main straight though was good for taking a position back.

I even rode it home. NSRs rock!
