oil pump sticking

Fri Aug 12, 2011 6:30 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi all could someone help, twice the oil pump cable has jumped out of the track on the throttle pully on the carbs where all three cables fit, i have twisted it dozens and dozens of times and never seen a problem but when the engine is running the other end of the cable on the oil pump the pully wheel seems to stick and the cable goes slack and thats when the cable jumps out of the track, has anyone had this problem? it's strange that it only does it when the engine is running,

Might be worth checking the cables are running nice and free before you change the pump, just a thought.

i took cable off completely to make sure it was nice and free and it is, it only seems to stick when engine is running, if the cabe is connected to the pump i can pull the cabe with my hand, so all i can think of is the pump.
