Gold sprocket

Sun May 29, 2011 9:35 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Anyone can tell me where I can buy a gold coloured rear sprocket for my mc21sp?
The only one I saw was on yahoo in Japan from Afam, but I believe the don't sell those in europe.
I saw that Talon makes one for the mc28 but didn't see any for the 21.

Any info is appreciated.

I already had contact with Jamie a long time ago.
Because it's in japan it would cost more than a 100 euro's incl. shipping.
maybe there is a cheaper alternative, but thanks for the reply.

Try B&C express sprockets, here in England, not in holland but might work out reasonable. B&C express, Station road, Potterhanworth, Lincoln. LN42DX. phone. +44 1522 791369.

Gold sprocket

Have a look at www.moto-racing.co.uk.
You want to follow :-PERFORMANCE PARTS, Chains/Sprockets, Blank & custom sprockets, YOUR SPECIFICATION - 520 sprockets.
They make to order £33.45 + £7.05 for gold anodizing + about £14 delivery to Europe.
You have to tell them the bore, bolt hole diameter and PCD.
Now here is the bad news if the price has not already put you off.
The MC21 sprocket has special studs which you would have to remove from your existing sprocket.
These are a tight fit so you would need to accurately measure the diameter in sprocket and convey this to the manufacturer.
I also think the side is recessed for the carrier. There might be extra charges for these.
You might want to look at www.jtsprockets.com and search the online catalogue for NSR250 for the dimensions.
(A 5 hole PCD is difficult to measure).

Thanks for all the replies!
I already contact jap4 and have to wait what they have to offer.

VHM in The Netherlands are selling AFAM, but they contacted AFAM and told them that they only sell the gold ones in japan and not in Europe.
I don't know why, but I think its strange too.

Licensed under from Afam but they are made in Japan...thats why Very Happy I would be glad to try and help, but seriously I make like less than $2 dollars on the sale and its not really worth my time anymore as I had some guy complain to me why I charge so much....better to find another friend in Japan or come out here yourself and get the part.

I think I have 1 38T gold Talon sprocket left, but it's destined for the MC18 F-III... or maybe my '21 together with a 16T front for a laugh sometime!

It was expensive to get them made, and I had to arrange a group buy. In the end a couple of members were good enough to buy a couple of sets each, after promises were made and not honoured. I think I lost money in the end, if I recall correctly. I sympathise with Jamie, and Moriwaki-Man for that matter.

Spray instead anodized ... No please !!! Very Happy Very Happy

My bike had a Gold Afam mounted when i bought it, and i'm lucky because is in very good shape, so i will use it. It's curious that they only sell the gold ones in Japan, i don't really understand that ...

Any particular size you're looking for?

I can keep an eye out if I see one.
