I have one problem i bought one new batt i charge it fully and then i went for one night ride, when i stop after 2 hours riding i had the light on with the engine running and my nsr stop working and doesnt start! then i close the light and my nsr start and i went home with no light. If I turn on my lights in indle nsr stop working but if i am with 3.000 rpm and up i can open them with no problem!
My rec/reg is brand new honda it gives 12-14 volts depend in rpm and when i stop the light doesnt work at 100%.
Even a new regulator/rectifier isn't guaranteed to be 100%, nor is a new battery, but it is unlikely one is bad if new.
It could be something as simple as a bad ground/earth. Clean and check all the connections first.
What voltage does the battery show after a ride?
There is a possibility that the stator is failing. I had a stator burn out and the performance degraded very slowly over a number of months, but the rest of the system checked out fine! It wasn't until a couple of the windings fully burnt out and the damage became visible that I was able to track it down. That was some 15 years ago too though, and there wasn't any (English) NSR info back then, and my NSR spannering skills were in even more question than they are now!
I expect it's more likely a bad/corroded earth. _________________ Andy.
