Mid RPM stumble

Thu Aug 25, 2011 2:02 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

What might be the cause?
Seems like from 3-6k rpm it's stumbling.. As soon as it hits 7k and gets on the pipe it picks up and smooths out.
Sound too rich or too lean to you guys? I'm going to rebuild the carbs and see if it helps, and I also have a bunch of jets that came with the bike... What do you all think?

Thanks,
Aydin

I think you should pull the carbs first, and check what the current jetting is. It may be blindingly obvious once you know the actual sizes!

DO NOT post jet sizes here though, else the post will get deleted! Jetting can only be discussed in the Members "Setup" area.

http://tech.nsr-world.com/nsr/nsr-all/carb-settings/

Theres the link for stock settings and jets, read through the workshop / tuning sections too. The graph that shows what jet / needle etc overlaps is very useful... Only area for jetting is in race set up, im guessing its about covering their ass if anyone stuffs up and is looking for someone else to blame.

i would say too rich, check that airfilter not mucked up,and have a good clean and blow out with comp,i had same problem when derestricing my 21 because i went up too much on my jets size, when i came down making it leaner it sorted the problem out although it's still a bit rich it's close enough for me.
