mc 21 magteks

Wed Sep 21, 2011 2:55 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

OK I have a question for my mc 21.

I have brought a set of Magteks, mainly as my rear standard wheel is not round, and I found these Magteks first before I found any standard wheels.

Now I'm not being stupid or lazy, but the last 6 months my health has been very up and down and I do find some simple things a struggle. Now what I am asking you lovely guys is I have 2 sets of wheels -- 1 Magtek and 1 standard -- the Magteks came bare except for bearings. Will my discs and sprocket carrier from the standard wheels fit the Magteks, or do I need to source some special pieces?

As I said, my health has not been great and one thing I find hard nowadays is figuring things out, so any info would be greatly appriacted. If I do need some new parts I can hopefully source them. I can still read, I just find it hard seeing what fits and what does not!

I hope all this makes sense and someone can help me as it's the first little project when I get better to finish my MC21.

Thanks in advance.

Admin: Edited to make it a little easier to read.

On the Magteks I had, the front brake bolts go all the way through the wheel hub and have locking nuts on one side.
The standard wheels use short bolts into threaded blind holes.
If your wheels came bare you will need to order six new nuts and bolts.
Or you could source some bolts the right length and use nyloc nuts maybe?
The rear disk bolts are the same but, three washers go behind the disk. I think some people run the disk without the washers but might as well order them if you need the front bolts too.
As far as I can remember, these are the only differences.

I also think the hub carrier for the sprocket is different too between original and Magtek

Hopefully someone will chime in and clarify.

Roy is right, the front wheel has bolts that go right through the wheel on road Magteks.

The rear uses the same sprocket carrier but the Magtek has an additional bit between the wheel and the carrier that the cush drive rubbers go in, this is not listed as a seperate part.
