new main jets are different

Fri Nov 11, 2011 6:43 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

i just bought some main jets from tyga so i can get my wire splice done but the ones that were sent are a completely different shape to the ones already in the carb.the ones from tyga are short with just the main hole down the centre but the ones in my carb are much longer with small holes on the side of the jet aswell as the main hole through the centre.
Not sure if i have bought the wrong thing or if it is just a different design?

The ones with the holes down the sides are the pilot/idle jets.

its for a mc21,it has been a while since i pulled the carbs apart,i thought it was the bigger jets with the holes down the sides,my memory must be failing me.but the new main jets do look smaller than my current ones.i will have to take them apart and have another look

I have jets from 120 to 210, and none of them have holes in the sides.

The only thing with holes in the side is the emulsion tube...

Fovu, please feel free to contact me directly about this. I feel that you are describing pilot jets, not main jets.

The two types of jets control fuel flow at opposite ends of the throttle opening spectrum.

Scroll down to the pictures. First picture: top jet is pilot / slow jet and has holes in the side. Middle jet is the main, and doesn't.

1. is the pilot
3. is the main.

2 is not a jet you can change (I think its the feed up to the power jet...)
