I hope it goes thought. If not, you can find it on eBay by searching NSR 250
(leave the space in there).
What do you all think? Yeah, stupid me, should've kept a secret from my competitive bidders. But... I e-mailed the owner. He said it has a title that says "MC28" because "Calif. DMV doesn't recognize MC21," and it is not a special construction title. Also, I asked where is the original bodywork & he says it is for sale (see seller's other items) as the NSR full bodywork. But that says on it "gullarm"and looking at photos no 1992 NSR SP was that color. Isn't gullarm a sticker found on CBR400RRs?? So, either he was given that bodywork & doesn't know what if it fits or not or ??
I wonder if it really is an SP?
I really want to wait until I find a beautiful MC28SP or MC21SP that
someone has taken care of. If this really was legit & the price was low
enough, might be work getting a set of Tyga bodywork though?
But it makes me so suspicious of eBay. What really makes me sick, though, is Chas Gallant had his wonderful NSR on eBay before I knew of
this site & I was suspicious of it. Grrrr!
From my own very limitted knowledge of NSR250s, the bodywork (if indeed it is original factory paint) would be from a 91/92 R model. The "GULL ARM" stickers did come on a few 91/92 models in place of the "250R" sticker - some of the 92/93 models had the "PROSPEC QUARTER" sticker. Check out this page on Jaime's site.
It's hard to tell if it is a genuine SP from just the photo's. But if he tells you that the bodywork was originally from the bike on sale, then it probably ain't a genuine SP champ... but it's still an NSR with some trick bits on there!
Bike's in average/poor condition always look better in photos than in the flesh and bikes in stunning mint condition look even better in real life than in photos and it's always hard to lay down cash on something you haven't seen or tested
I bought my MC21SP [Pentax Racing colours] from eBay too. I pretty much just took a gamble as the seller was uncontactable and I was desperate for an NSR250 (not a very common bike on the roads in Australia).
I hope I haven't made you more confused than before _________________ Jerry Lai
NSR250 [MC21SP]
I would only consider paying $3500 with all the original bodywork fitted.
Even the bodywork the seller has advertised separately has no upper fairing and the tailpiece has non matching colours. Why would anybody remove original bodywork on such a low milage bike unless its had some serious abuse?
i have actually ridden that bike. the bike runs great and is in good mechanical condition. as for the body, it has been club raced. and is not immaculate. the bike is actually an se model though. the owner recently aquired it and needs to sell it so he can get a boiler for ccs racing. the bodywork on it is all fiberglass and 'slapped' on. good mechanically sound bike though with a legit ca title. which makes it worth something. as long as the title has the correct vin thats all that matters. my nsr is titled as an RS MC21. go figure.
if you want a good NSR street bike to start aproject then this is it. but if your looking for a collector mint SP, then dont bid.
California titles never state the model of the bike. It only states the year and mfg. Someone correct me if I am wrong. It won't make a difference if you are going to title it in your own state.
