hi guys can anybody tell me which usd front end is compatible with a 21? zxr, rvf, rgv etc and whats needed /involved in the switch? im ruling out the mega expensive rs250 front end. thanks anyone
I think the ZXR250 is close. I'm sure someone here will correct me if I'm wrong. _________________ MC21SP Plaything

the ZXR250 will fit with just a stem swop, but the ign switch will need relocating and you loose the steering lock.
DMB has done this swop on his MC21.
I used the RVF conversion and it worked out well.I used the RVF yokes with an NSR stem pushed in it and I still used the NSR ignition lock the same way as usual.I also had the forks resprung and reworked to suit myself and the NSR.
thanks guys, the rvf sounds the way to go as i presume the front wheel would go straight on but would i need the larger disks off the rvf aswell?
cheers miff87
Yes you will need the 296mm diameter rotors, you can use them from a RVF or If you want real trick look Galfer wave rotor for these bikes will work.
RS250R 1990-1996
CBR600F3 1995-1998
VFR750 1994-1997
CBR900RR 1993-1997
VTR1000 1997
Stock rotors form these bikes will also bolt right on.
I have just done the RS250 swap, Matt at Tyga did the stem and steering stop mod. to the lower clamp. Got a set of RS250 Brembo's used and a great deal on new Galfer wave rotors on E-bay for $400 USD. Also you will need new clip-ons, and I don't know about the calipers, I think with the ZX you need to make caliper adapters and the RVF forks you'll use the RVF calipers. It's not a cheap swap, you can plan on at leat $1500 USD, That is about were I ended at ! JHA was selling RVF conversions.
The wheel may not be a straight swap, you might have to center the wheel by machining a spacer, Mine was only off .050" with the stock NSR spacers and RS axle.
Sounds like the RVF is the nice way to go as you don't loose your steering lock. That is one thing I will miss & you do loose some steering radius with any of the USD swaps.
-JHA yokes which keep the correct NSR offset which is very important
-RVF front forks with black nitride coating - just rebuilt and not ridden
-MC28 calipers with EBC HH pads, under 150 miles use
-Braking Wave discs (same as Galfer) with no more than 150 miles, so as new.
-Front wheel wearing Dunlop D208GP with less than 100 miles on it
Make me an offer if interested! _________________ NSR300R - Why did i ever have a 250...
