So sealed up my crankcase the other night, and just now reading through some of the old threads and notice other people put the crank case sealant on the crank case halves where the outer seals (on the end of the crank) go.

Is this a must? There was no sealant there when I pulled the bike apart.

Am I going to have to split the cases, scrape off all the sealer, and re seal it just to do those two bits?!

Hi Greg,

No no need for sealer on the casings where crank seals go. Maybe when you use used seals but not with new ones...

Cheers

Do a leak test , if you don't have a tester make friends with someone that has one or make/buy one . Very easy and takes all the guessing out of your workmanship .
It's ok to make a mistake if you find it and fix it . If you don't double check then you are a chancer .
