What cranking pressure??

Wed Jan 18, 2012 6:01 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

HI
Thought I would delve inside my mc 18 2rk to check its in good nick and maybe do a bit of a clean up!
The cold cranking pressures are 95 psi and 98 which seems good to me! but my most recent 2 stroke experience was tuned lc s a long time ago when anything up near 100 psi was very very good!

Could you more experienced nsr people let me know?
Cheers Phil

I assume you talking about compression?

on my running MC18 PGM2 I have about 130 on both cylinders. I also have a blown up motor that was 140 and 70 psi

70psi barrel was toast

Assuming that nsr runs a "corrected" compression ratio of 7.4:1,
I reckon readings should be 107 psi and above?

The service manual gives 10 kg/cm^2, which is 142psi. What I can't tell is if that's RC valve open or closed.

My engine has made 120-130 the couple of times I've tested it.
