MC21 M Parts de-resctrictor

Mon Aug 13, 2012 3:11 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have found this jolly little device on my newly acquired NSR250 R7L

http://www.dreamgate.ne.jp/nsr/Tuning/mmax_cdi.jpg

Is this going to work any better than the simple wire splice

If so I'm a happy bunny, if not then what do I need to replace it ?

Thanx in advance

Nope!

But if it's working, then why the need to replace it? Unless you just want to tidy things up?

Andy.

If the overall effect is the same de restriction, then I will leave it in place. Are these devices reliable and what component has it actually replaced ?

It hasn't replaced anything. It's a wire splice in a box.

The great thing about these Mmax boxes (KISS, POSH, HRC included) is that all the aforementioned companies made a fortune out of conning the paying public into buying a "wire splice in a box" as Granty puts it.

A simple wire splice all neatly wrapped up within the harness is a much better way of doing it, as the chances of ever wanting to undo this mod are zero.

But then again, as there's no ill effects then there's no harm in leaving it on there.

The GPS plugs (grey) do absolutely nothing. Just wires into and out of the box. Don't even bother to connect them.

Well that's a bit cheeky of them.

If I understand this correctly if I throw this box away do the 4 connectors it joins up simply reconnect to each other ?

If I did the above then do the wire splice, then I will be no worse or better off, I just don't have an an extra mystical box inline with the rest of the harness.

Thanx for your patience and advice as I'm sure this topic has come up previously
