I'm pretty sure most major brands use the 4 digit date:

1012 Would be made the 10th week of 2012.

Why's it matter? Dan (Gecko) set a lap record on a 10 year old pair of Dunlops and this is an 8 year old front tyre;

Is that you losing the front Stace?

I kind of agree though. I've run round on some very old tires before.

vendor has said he will replace. said it was a mistake. he'll get some props once it actually happens.

of course my ex took the child tax exemption (it was my year) and said it was a "mistake" too.

We used to run a 150/60-18 on our ZXR 250 race bike here in Japan, but have since swapped over to a 17" rear. While they were cheap and a great trackday tire, we were easily out-cornered by guys running Pirelli SuperCorsas.

Last year, I searched for hours looking for 090 18" tires from the US, and if they did advertise them online, they never had them in stock. They still have them in Japan, but some shops are finishing out their inventories and not ordering more.

To be fair Steve I had to grab quite a bit of front brake in that corner (Coppice at Donington) as I nearly ran into a big 4t, I swear the rear lifted at that sort of lean...Dunlop KR364's....old but still gold Wink

If a new tyre has been kept out of direct sunlight then it will still be ok even if it is a few years old . A used one left out to the elements is only good for a hula hoop !
