Hi,
Once again I'm hoping somebody more knowledgeable will come to my aid!! My MC16 thermostat switch has snapped off in the thermostat housing, I've removed the piece left behind but now need to find a replacement. The part number off the NSR World parts catalogue states it as 37750-pc1-004 which is available for £35 from David Silver Spares among others plus P&P !!!! Now this seems a tad steep for a switch that is used pretty much across the Honda motorbike range!
In fact if you Google the part number it also comes up as applicable to many Honda cars (and looks identical in the pictures) and sells for approx £10!!
Now the obvious question is, will the car part fit? it looks identical, and more importantly has the same part number!!
If it has exactly the same part number it is just the same part. Many parts are the same in bikes. If you find the correct part number of your model in an other seller cheaper, then the seller that you noticed sells the part expensive
*psst* it's not a switch, its a temperature gauge sender. Which is a switch of sorts, but more like a variable resistor. _________________ More **** two strokes than you can shake a **** stick at.
As far as I know the mc16/18/21 one is generic, the mc28 is NSR specific. _________________ Please do not PM me technical questions, if you can't find it on the Forum start a thread
Ok, just received my Temp sensor from my Honda car dealer for an Integra, just over a tenner inc VAT and its exactly the same as the original (same part number etc) at a 3rd of the price of David Silver Spares!! (or any other motorbike spares emporium!) Result!!!! I can now fill the radiator and get it started!!!!! fingers crossed!!!
