RS250 NXA

Fri Oct 23, 2009 9:53 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

I've been lucky enough to get this bike......

RS250 NXA 2002 spec model, purchased from Honda in 2004.

Not entirely standard:
RSW Bodywork
'A Kit' style airbox
VHM Heads
I-Factory revalved showa suspension
Brembo Race-Line calipers (gold-line are standard)
HRC Det Counter
Quick-Shifter (not fitted)
Spare Rims + few other parts

I actually didn't realise how few NXA's HRC built, speaking to Dan Williams, around 20 per year from 01 to 06 or 07??

Good question Laughing

Well as I'm building the NX5 Cadalora Rep to run at Classic Events (Moto Jarama in Spain, Bikers Classic Spa, Mallory 1000 bikes etc), I thought about sharing regular track day time between the NXA and MC21 Track Bike (keep the track mileage down a bit, so won't have to replace cranks too often).

Made contact with Ian E in Leeds who spends a lot of time at Track Days (with Dyno) in Spain, taking it down to Valencia would be cool.

That looks lovely Rich...... I've beee racking my brains to figure out how I can scrape the money together for Dan Williams NXA.

I love riding my NF5, but I'd kill for an NXA..... especially seeing as they only made 150 or so.

Jolly Cans on the pic. A set of JHA exhausts will be tested this winter.

Cheers Tom, yes the NXA is a pretty rare beast. Dan's is the only 'used' one for sale in the UK, which I'm aware of. Padgetts have 2 brand new ones for £17K + VAT Shocked

Guess if Irish Road Racing or ACU / NG Cup phase out the 250's, a few more NXA's will come onto the market.

Mallory Park

Sun Apr 18, 2010 10:06 am » Post: #13 » Download Post

A few 'firsts' yesterday at Mallory.....

First ride on the NXA
First ride with race pattern gear-shift (took some adjusting to after >20 years on road pattern!).
First ride around Malllory with the chicanes (prefer without).
First ride on any bike for 7 months.

It all went well, the sun was blazing and so was the NXA, awesome!
Someone timed one of my laps at 1.06 secs, which I hope isn't too shabby considering all of the above.

The day was intended as a 'shake down' and just happy it all worked out OK.

A few pics, especially for Hermit, who has taken up a keen interest in if I'm polishing my bike in the garage or if I'm thrashing it on a track Laughing
