2012 NSR-WORLD.COM UK Trackdays...

Mon Oct 10, 2011 5:51 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Initial discussions with a leading UK track day organiser have so far been very productive, and they are open to us reserving whole (inters) group sessions across a range of days.

We're looking at purchasing 3~4 "shared" days next summer, at some of the more desireable 250-friendly tracks. This will of course include another day at Donington, after the success of the recent last-minute gathering.

Naturally we don't have any dates yet, but we will make sure they don't clash with any F250 racing, and will also try to spread the event locations out so everyone (except us!) has a chance to do at least one meeting relatively close to home. We hope that this will inspire you all to travel to the more distant days in reciprocation! So, no more "not if it's not on my doorstep" type posts please! Wink

We will try to give at least 2 months notice, and hopefully 3 months notice of each date and location. So far we have Donington, Anglesey, and Brands Hatch as our three top choices, but would like to hear from you where you'd most like to go.

We need 35~40 participants for each track day, and would like to try and make at least 1/2 of the places NSRs and RSs! We've had 17 together at Llandow before, so I think it's a realistic goal, but we really do need commitment from you guys. Llandow is a bit of an outlay, but a whole session (at Donington for example) makes it look like pocket money! Shocked

Did you not see Brands Hatch highlighted in the post? The poll is for a possible fourth day.

The plan is to buy the whole inters group, try to fill it with 50% Hondas, and invite the other forums too, to make up the rest. We want 35~40 250's, and a stinky paddock! Laughing

We need commitment from members here first though, to inspire not only the organisation, but also the financial outlay. We're looking at at least £4500 investment for some tracks in summer. As with everything we try and do, it will be non-profit, but we want it to be non-loss too! Laughing If we can get 20 Hondas I'm sure we can get another 15~20 from other forums to play too. The TDR boys are always receptive for a start, and quick! It wouldn't surprise me to see half a dozen TDRs sign up.

It's too short and and far too expensive for what it is, but the real question is what wrong with reading the post?

Croft? You'll be lucky to get anything there other that a quiet day.
Snett? Don't dismiss it as a power track, the new infield on the 300 circuit is superb, brilliantly surfaced as well.
Rockingham? the National circuit is great, the International one is garbage. Need resurfacing, it's very slippy if it's even slightly damp and not the best even in the dry.
Oulton? Ace, always pricey, be aware - loud means 102db, not 105db (as does Brands) so open carbed bikes may have issues.

Cadwell is specifically missing as the RGV guys organise (or have for the last 2 years) a big 2-stroke day there. It seems silly to not exactly compete with that, but do another day there where we could choose another track. It would mean if you did them all you have the chance of five 2-stroke days at top tracks across the country over the summer!

Sorry, I missed that bit, partly due to the phone screen being so small and that it displays the tags rather than actually highlighting the words.....and partly me being lazy.

I would be up for at least a couple of the days, would like to try Anglesey and Donnington. Voted for Snetterton, heard the new layout is really good but Rockingham national would be a good 4th choice as well. Good layout for 250's and nice central location.

I have never ridden any of them but quite fancy Oulton Park, I am determined to make the next NSR meet.
