got the bike fixed now its running ok it pulls well in every gear but feels flat bottom end the air box has holes drilled in it not sure if this is helping things everything else is std apart from hrc stuffers in the reed blocks
has anyone else drilled the box is this a mod you guys do?? i know people do it on four stroke enduro bikes but im not sure about 2 strokes,i do know my way around a bike just not ever played with an nsr 250 this being my first one
can anyone give me a good starting point im running 2 turns out on the air screw and *** mains i didnt want to touch the needles in case i split the gasket (did that on my 3ma)
im going to gaffer tape up the holes and try it like that if it makes it better i will fill them in for good just need some time to play
thanks in advance jody

Hi Jody
What actually was wrong with it ? ,you certainly got your act together getting it repaired,
as for the flat spot I had an mc 18 with exactly that issue,i sonic cleaned the carbs and raised the *et sizes it helped the problem but never cured it fully,mc 18,s often mess around with carburation 1 I had used to rev its nuts off on startup and the after several seconds it would settle down perfectly ok,hope you get to the bottom of it,

yeah needed it fixed asap its my work transport thats why i was so pissed when it broke
i took it apart and the exhausts and the crank cases were full of fuel so i removed the full exhausts and both barrels then used compressed air to blow out all the fuel from the bottom end of the engine
i then renewed the float needle valves and reset up the float heights they were out by miles i replaced all fluids and fitted a new air filter, new plugs and new caps
i extended the side stand this may have been the cause why the floats were not fully closing not sure really dont really care just happy its fixed
now just need to do the fork seal that has sprung a leak and the front wheel bearings are clicking there is no play but sounds very noisy i think they may have been fitted badly
so not bad really i fixed it in less than a week a long week lol
