NSR 250 R7L 4Km on the clock, but has a lot of corrosion as if it got wet 15 years ago and was never cleaned afterwards. Engine sounds nice and tight bit of rough paint on the wheels (is red the correct colour or should they be white on all R models).
Firstly, Having lifted the airbox fro the carbs I find a network of tubes. All seems straight forward, breather pipe, fuel, oil, pipes lead to some dinky (air ?) solenoids. MMM My problem is this:
2 pipes leave the left hand side of the carbs, meet in a 4 way junction pipe, one of which leads to a Y connector into what I think are the air solenoids. The other goes into a T connector. One side of this connector connects to a third slot on the air solenoids, the other end is open.
OK so a read the tuning your carburettor and it states the red X connector and the black Y connector but no mention of this third T connector. If the bike is standard which I believe it is, should this T connector be open.
Secondly, as it's a R and has no rebound damping on the forks, do these forks work adequately once set up correctly, I get the feeling the bike is trying to overtake the front wheel when I brake, or are they a bit rubbish and a Maxton revalue will sort them out.
Thirdly, the rear shock, again are they OK once adjusted correctly or is a replacement advisable
Last one, would an H rated tyre be more appropriate or does it really need V rated. I was thinking Dunlop qualifiers but the H rated version.
