I have both MC28 and NC30 arms, one difference that I can see it the type of linkage that it uses

Hmmm - from what I remember the arm itself is the same, but the linkages and spacers are definitely different.

This is a very dim memory. You could ask some of the fellas on 400 grey bike the same question as well.

Did it years ago (before MC28 existed) and it was alot of agro.

RVF swinger has offset shock (not central like NSR) and different shock linkage mounts. You'll need to cut a section of the shock tunnel out and reweld a plate in. Then you have cut off the shock linkages mount, have a new one machined and then weld that on. Finally I seem to remember the rear wheel needed a spacer too to get it to line though.

Best get yourself an MC28 swingarm, seriously!

MC28 has a larger pivot bolt, other than that MC28 ProArm to MC21 frame is an easy swap, uses same shock.

What I was referring to is that NC30 uses a shock with a "fork" on the lower end so the linkage is not same as the shock fits over it not inside it like NSR

The VFR and RVF arms are different enough to make it a pain in the arse of a job. As racer38 says, do yourself a favour and get an MC28 swingarm!

There are loads of posts covering ProArm downgrades for the MC18 and MC21, and people have already given sound advice. Use the search!

Duncanb has posts all about it in his build thread. The £10 it will cost to be a member will be saved just in time alone reading some of the extra information available to members.

Too late for you now, but buying an NC30 or NC35 swingarm for an NSR conversion is a false economy.
