Have a look at your air screws and pilot jets, make sure they are not blocked or mis-adjusted.

I had a similar problem with mine recently, it ran fine but stop at lights and it would cut out on 1 cylinder intermittently. I started the fault finding process with new plugs and lucky for me this solved the problem.

15 free horsepower by doing the wiresplice and modifying the airbox.

4x 20mm holes in the front slope of the airbox is the preferred method. Smaller holes allow you to blank two off it's too lean in cold weather. Smaller holes in the front of the lid have shown better results on the dyno than cutting the whole back off.

Remember it is ESSENTIAL that you check the jetting after. The OEM setting is generally rich from the factory, but take absolutely NOTHING for granted. Don't even assume your current jetting is standard. Check it first! Standard carb settings are in the Technical section of the Workshop. Link to the left of this page.

Please note: Non-standard jetting discussion is only allowed in the Members area.

Over-setting the oil pump is a bad idea. The pumps are rich as standard as it is!

Tyga SS is an excellent choice since those old JHAs are very rare and expensive,i have a set on my mc28 and i'm more than satisfied, they transformed the bike Smile

We all have a soft spot for those old CBRs,smaller or bigger ones('98 900..)
