Indicator's not working

Sun Sep 09, 2012 5:35 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hey guys,
Sorry i recently brought a NSR and the indicators don't seem to be working, everything else does, i'm getting the tank repainted so i haven't started it.
I noticed of the front indicator there is another plug but i can't find what it plugs into, could anybody assist?
Thanks

What bike?

on my MC18 extra plug was for the pilot light, comes off the left front indicator

flasher relay is in the back next to PGM unit but when I had similar issue it was a dirty switch. It's a bit fiddly but can be fixed

Yes the other plug will be the front park light (or pilot light)
Just look up your model in the parts manual (under Headlight) and you will soon see where the front park light plugs into the body of the headlight.

Thanks for the response!
Yep it was the pilot plug, that i was talking about.
I'll take the switch apart now to have a look.
Is there anyway of testing the relay?
I just checked and it looks like power is going to it.
Thanks

Guys so last night i plugged in a old indicator with my new new indicators.
And they FLASHED!!
So i probably need some resistors as you do with LED indicators.
Thanks for the help everybody!

it helps if you mentioned they were LED's, most companies selling them will provide you with resistors
