hi everybody,

i have bought my first NSR250, its the MC18 R5K 1989 and i have my first question for you all.

can anybody tell me if any other model of NSR or Honda 2 stroke engine uses cylinder heads that are compatible with the MC18 R5K rear cylinder please?

1988 R2/4J heads will fit, and you may get away with an 1987 MC16 head, although it will take a little creative plumbing as the outlet differs to the MC18.

Using an MC16 head may also effect the compression ratio.

Only 87-89 heads share the same patterns. No other models share heads with NSR250s.

thanks for the info.

i agree that the mc16 head probably will alter the compression ratio seeing as the mc16 engine runs a lower compression figure and i expect the squish area/angle is different also?
