Air Correction Plumbing diagram or photo

Mon Oct 08, 2012 5:10 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

I have been contacted privately with a question, so I thought I would post here, where I think it belongs, slightly edited.

Hi Winton,
I want to make sure that the connections on my air correction system is correct on my MC18SP,.. if the correct pipe goes to the correct place. Could you possibly take a couple of high-res photos of your air correction system and send them to me? I have tried looking on the internet, but the best picture I get is the one on the NSR250.net forum, and that is not quite detailed enough for me.

There is a diagram on the airbox lid which was good enough for me to be able to work it out.
Perhaps someone on here can post up a good diagram or photo?

That's the image from the official Honda Workshop Manual. I should have it in a larger (clearer) format somewhere. It may be easier (visually) for some people to look at it in black-on-white:

You can still see the routing of the plumbing though. The only one that's not really clear is the line from the T-piece to the #1 solenoid, but it's not rocket science! Wink

Hi Guys,

Just to clear the air here real quick, it was I who sent that email to Tuckerbug asking about the air correction. Simple fact is that mine was completely pulled apart when I got it. Now it is simple enough to see which pipe goes into which T-peice or X-peice, but my real problem is knowing which pipes goes to the top coupling and which pipes go to the bottom coupling of each respective solenoid, something that cannot be seen from a top view diagram. Unfortunately the diagram on the top of my airbox is slightly spoiled after years of abuse, making it somewhat illegable.

Could someone please help me out here?

Thanks.

Jacques.

I may not be the sharpest tool in the box, but if I had to take a wild stab in the dark, my best guess would be...

Honda's diagrams are usually pretty bloody spot on, so logically, I would suggest the hose from the large round junction that's going off to #1 solenoid, would be connected to the top outlet.
