My first NSR

Fri Oct 21, 2016 8:37 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hey all,

Very new to this NSR stuff, but have had a few bikes in my time, I've been lead to believe NSR's are somewhat rare here in Australia and trying to track down one at a good price is getting harder, I had only just found this forum due to the original owner of my NSR, he's an awesome guy and we both wanted the same thing for the bike.

Anyway enough about that, here it is!!!

.
.
.

Haha okay turns out I can't add pictures from my tablet so I'll have to get of the toilet and do it.

i want to go back to the original fairing (which come with the bike) the fairings on it now will be kept/stored/whatever

anyway i need a loom and a PGMIII and it should run.

Welcome to NSR-WORLD, Bento.

Good luck with your project!

Looks like you have MC28 forks there, so do yourself a favour get rid of those awful adaptor brackets and get yourself some nice 2000+ SP1/2 or Fireblade calipers for a start! Laughing

Hard to tell from the photo, but it looks like they are MC21 calipers! Really, some people shouldn't be allowed near tools! Confused

For all that effort, I don't know why they didn't just get some MC28 (or similar) calipers that would've bolted straight on.

Okay so my calipers are off getting rebuilt, well cleaned anyway, i will propably sell them with all the stuff to be assembled and buy MC28 Brembos in that case, my loom arrived from japan last week and is in AMAZING condition!! wire splice already done.

Frame is off to be Aqua blasted
Wheels are off at the powdercoaters getting coated magnesium gold
Engine is at work pulled down with all seals to go in and all the casing off to the Aqua blaster

all should be back very very soon and will be reassembled with all new bolts, bushes and rubbers.

My fairing kit has seen better days and i would prefer NOT to put cheap chinese knock off on all the work im going through now, so does ANYONE have any leads on where i can get NEW/2nd OEM hand fairing kits

Depends what you ordered but most of the consumable parts crossover from '21 to '28 forks 👍

'28 forks are unthreaded, you bolt into the callipers through the fork...'21's are threaded.

Seem to be a few faring kits on Yahoo Japan, but honestly the Chinese replica kits are about 95% perfect, here is a set I fitted for less than £400...

Hi, looks like you have a Tyga rear subframe, you will need a standard one if you want to fit the standard shape seat unit.
