Decoking and restoring original chambers

Thu Feb 07, 2013 2:41 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

So I have two sets of original chambers, between them there is a set with very little external damage that can be restored to good condition (to go on the second bike I am slowly collecting parts for).

What is the best way to decoke the inside? Given that I'm unlikely to find someone willing to let me ruin their acid bath...

Then once it's decoked, best way to seal it and prevent rust.

Thanks in advance for the wisdom.

I blogged the restoration of my pipes here.
Hope that helps.

As is says in my signature, "please try to keep all responses on the forum".

Linking to some of the photos and a brief rundown would've been more appropriate, and maybe a link to the whole article at the end?

Thank you for your consideration next time.

Oh I see. Sorry. Embarassed
I always considered the:

"Please keep all responses to Forum posts on the Forum so that others may benefit"

notice to mean that you shouldn't reply via PM if answering a question. Confused

It is, mostly. But I think better to post fixes and suggestions directly on the forum, rather than asking someone to follow (what can sometimes be spurious) links.

As I say, something like "a link to the full blog article here" at the end would be fine.

I'd just rather not redirect forum members and dilute the information resource.

Thank you.
