Though I might introduce the other RS250 in my life.
It's a 1993 Honda RS250 NX5. Not done anything to it since I bought it from James Bricken from this forum, except run it on the dyno and play with the jetting and PVs.
It has the later 1997 bodywork fitted. a 1995 rear shock and an A kit (ram)airbox too.
Soon be more RS,s than NSR,s,and tell me Tom,where did you get that sunshine from?. _________________ Proud Father of , 05 ktm 400exc supermoto 2018 honda crf rx supermoto
There has been a spate of burglarys in the last two weeks where we are, so I'm shitting myself! The neighbours either side have been done over.
To be honest they are after tools in sheds etc, but you never know so I've beefed up security.
With family etc I can't really comit to racing, pretty much the story for most of us I guess. That's why it took 5 months to give the NF5 a spruce up. So they are just trackday bikes. When compared to a tuned up NSR, the RS's aren't much more money, and they are so nice to use and (for Steve/Andy/Fontyyy ) to work on.
I never really intended to have two RS's, that's why one is up for sale.
Hi Innes, Here's a few more of the air box. It had a whole host of plumbing in it, which I've disconnected and will replace with OEM Honda stuff. I'll try get a few with the lid off tonight and add them at the bottom.
Yep the tap is on the outside. Not sure what all the plumbing is about, I guess it's a home made version of the Honda stuff. Used to equalise the pressure in the air box and tank. However this system isn't liked to the front brake lever like a std set up, so not quite sure what all that stuff was doing.
Thanks for the pics. I've never seen an airbox like that before fitted to an RS.
I wonder what sort of spec the 'over the radiator' type of airbox fitted to my RS is?
I do have a couple of pics of a set of Keihin carbs fitted with similar 'plumbing' to yours and have read an article relating to the 'plumbing' for (I think) fine tuning of the fuel metering/carb set up. For the life of me I cannot find the article now though! Doh!

Out of interest, what did it make on the dyno? What sort of dyno did you use and did it have Ram air? _________________ If it ain't broke, fix it until it is.
