Both my friends mc18s have a 12k redline. We're looking at buying another and the pics of the instrument show a tach with a redline of 11.5. Other than that it looks legit. Any idea what's up ? _________________ -Aradune
The 1988 R2/4J shows a redline at 11,500rpm, and the 1989 R5/6K shows a redline at 12,000rpm.
It's irrelevant however, as both make peak power around 11,200rpm. You have an HRC tacho that shows 14,000 and no redline if you want... it's not going to make the bike any more powerful, or any faster! _________________ Andy.

I figured they were the same real HP at 11.2k, I just wanted to make sure this bike was legit because the tach was different than what I'm used to.
