hi my mc18 has no choke i have a new set of carbs with the mechanism intact can someone upload a photo of where the choke cable sits please

If you mean where the cable sits on the carb bodies.

The cable sits in the middle of the two carbs on a metal bracket with a small hook to secure the cable.

Hi thanks where does it sit on the bike is it up by the handle bars or tucked behind the fairing?

It has a lever with a bracket which placed on the frame behind the left fairing.
