Was hoping for some advice. The bike (MC28) was running pretty well when I bought it. I stripped it down to replace cables / clean power valves / bearings / seals and give it a general degrease and tidy up. Now there seems to be no spark to the front cylinder. The bike starts (reluctantly) with much smoke and un-burnt oil exiting the right hand pipe (I'm assuming the smoke is fuel/oil burning in the expansion chamber?). I get the same result if I pull off the plug cap to the front cylinder while the bike is running (ie no noticeable change). If I hold the front plug cap while the bike is running I (in fact stick my finger in the cap directly on the electrode), I don't get any electric shocks. What is the likely culprit - coils? Given the bikes age, should I bite the bullet and replace both coils and both plug caps?
Any issues running the HRC coil pack together with the conventional NGK Silicone Spark Plug Cap listed in the marketplace?
Another quick one - do the HRC coils listed on the marketplace swap straight out for the standard coils / spade connectors etc? Does the Type A and Type B refer to the front and rear cylinders?
