My track bike

Tue Oct 02, 2012 4:49 pm » Post: #1 » Download Post

Had a great day at Donnington to see Stephen and Stephens 500's. Met Andy and Matt and of course Shane.
All of them showing interest in my developing track day bike. Andy now has given us our own thread.
So I am at this point.
Custom built exhausts which save me 12 kgs

The rear pipe is now underseat

Bodywork in progress

Nitron rear shock fitted.
It sounds awesume.
I will keep you updated as I go.

I'm sure Pete will be at our next NSR-World track day if not at Donington then maybe Le-mans?

Well the NSR-World GP day will be sometime in July, around the 24th. So I'm guessing Le-mans sometime on August.

As it happens my cousin Matias works for KTM R&D.

The pipes are tasty Mark.
Took 7 months mind to get them.!!!
Will post up a you tube link this weekend with it running.
As regards wheels ...i think... that they are cb600 and cb250 combination. I say think because Ian supplies my stuff because he tells that is what I need!!!!!All i know is that the rear just fits in the swingarm. The brake arm had to be modded to get it all in.

I am technically useless by the way.

All I know is what I want and how it should look.!!!!!

Yes, Mr Wright knows his stuff. He saved me from disaster on a 500 conversion someone else had "prepared" a couple of years ago.

I'll tell you all about it just as soon as I can bring myself to talk about it without twitching...

I love how it looked as stock, so keen to see how it turns out with the updated bodywork.

What will you be doing as regards the faring, Pete?

Its a 250 top half mated to a 400 bottom half. I think it looks the part. The new rear shock has jacked the back up and the Harris clip ons have dropped my hands a couple of inches.
