How good is Castrol TTS for premix?

Mon Sep 30, 2013 9:54 am » Post: #1 » Download Post

Hi fellas, I am looking at switching to premix for my race bike.

I have almost 4 litres of Castrol TTS sitting here that I have been using for the injector system, how good is this stuff for premix race application (compared to something like Motul 800)?

I'm a bit loath to simply put it on the shelf and not use it. It's opened so not much resale value. But if it is still pretty damn good then I will use it up. What do you think?

Cheers for the assistance guys.

I use Castrol Racing 1 for both premix and for the oil pump. Drop Castrol a line they will know better than anyone. I think they might even have a chat window on their web site. I think you can use oil pump oil as premix but not the other way round

Their spec sheet say's it's good for injectors and pre-mix up to 50:1.

I have used injector oil as a pre-mix with perfectly fine results. However, I would never use pre-mix (A747 for example) in an injector system.
